Children’s rooms: 10 most popular design ideas in 2022

There is no more beautiful interior design project than the one that takes place in the children’s bedroom

Whether you are thinking of updating the children’s bedroom, or if you have a passion for children’s decoration and just want to delight yourself with various interior design ideas, this tour of the most viewed rooms in 2020 will leave you satisfied.

1 The key: The wallpaper

Fleeing from the traditional pastel tones, generally favorites in children’s rooms, the owners wanted something special, bright and inviting to dream, but without falling into the clichés of the baby. The Quefalamaría team hit the nail on the head with the choice of a wallpaper with colored feathers, very light thanks to its white background. In order not to be too repetitive, it was placed only on two walls and white paint on the rest. What a cutie!

2 The baby’s room

A comfortable chair next to the cradle is essential to give the shots, accompany the baby or read him a story. The stars are very present in the decoration of this children’s bedroom: made of different materials and located in different places, they create a chimerical atmosphere. So that parents are comfortable when sharing those special moments with their baby, some poufs were arranged that provide warmth and alternate with the armchair to sit or recline on them.

3 Color Trio

In this children’s bedroom for two sisters, the color pink combines with mint and white, bringing serenity to the space. On the other hand, the patterns and colors of the cushions break with the symmetrical lines of the decoration as a whole. We love the distribution of the trundle bed and the bunk bed to take advantage of the storage space, isn’t it very cool?

4 Nordic mint

At the back of the room, the Nordic-inspired trundle bed was installed. Next to it, and near the headboard, the light switch was placed in case the little one gets up at night. The wall was lined with a delicate cloud wallpaper. Did you know that the house-shaped structure was made by his dad? To decorate it, a coiled garland of lights was placed.

5 For two brothers

On the upper floor of this duplex is the play area and room where two brothers of 7 and 5 years old sleep. The latter was furnished with two bunk beds and the same bedding was chosen as that of the parents’ bedroom. At the same time, a canopy with floor cushions was placed where children can spend long hours reading in total peace.

6 A Teenage Girl’s Treasure

Walls and furniture are white, a color that makes the teenager’s bedroom seem larger. Added to this is the fact that the wooden elements that provide warmth —such as the bedside table or the ladder attached to the wall— have a light design that does not overload the environment.

7 sweet dreams

Two sisters of similar ages share this room decorated in soft tones and presided over by their two passions: stuffed animals and dance. Similar elements are repeated on Alejandra’s headboard: her name, a simple wooden shelf where photos, prints and stories can be placed, and a festive garland, but this time made of fabric. In the corner, a wicker basket is used to store your petting zoo.

8 Nordic and sweet

This children’s room was decorated in a sweetened Nordic style, with pink wallpaper printed with clouds, white furniture and light gray textiles that accompany the many toys and stuffed animals.

9 Playground

The blogger Belén Canalejo, from Balamoda, has transformed the basement of her house into a playroom for her children with a guest room included. A custom-made wood and glass enclosure separates the children’s area from the guest room, which is also the rehearsal room for Nacho, the father of the family. In this area, a tipi has been placed surrounded by rugs and mats, which invite you to play on the floor.

10 Reading corner

Keeping the background white, in this children’s room a touch of grace was added by painting the lower strip of the walls in sky blue. In this way, it also appears wider. But the area that wins the prize is, without a doubt, the magical reading corner that takes advantage of the corner windows. Decorated with a charming white canopy and a base of soft cushions, it couldn’t be more charming.

I am fond of design and repairs for the last 4 years. For this, I managed to learn a lot of nuances of repair, which I want to share here. I also love to create and make collections of ideas for inspiration.
